Up for sale is a lot of 10 small ammonite fossils. These are great for resale or for small gifts! Each ammonite comes with a nice color display label and ziploc bag with a hole for hanging from display stands. THE AMMONITES IN THE PHOTO ARE NOT THE ACTUAL ONES YOU WILL RECEIVE - YOU WILL RECEIVE AMMONITES OF SIMILAR QUALITY AND SIZE. Ammonites were prehistoric marine creatures related to the modern day cuttlefish, squid, and octopus family. Ammonites are called cephalopods because their heads and tentacles protruded out of the same opening; they grew by building larger chambers onto their shells. Ammonites first appeared during the Devonian period, 400 million years ago, and went extinct during the Cretaceous, 65 million years ago.
