This is a neat item - it's a genuine fossil tooth from an extinct mackerel shark, Otodus obliquus, which lived up to 60 Million years ago! Otodus had a pointed snout, nearly symmetrical tail, and a reputation for aggressiveness; it may have grown up to 30 feet long! THE TOOTH PICTURED IS NOT THE ACTUAL ONE YOU WILL RECEIVE IF YOU PURCHASE THIS ITEM, BUT IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE SIZE AND QUALITY OF THESE FOSSILS. These are our "B" grade teeth so they may have repairs, missing side cusps or tips, or other imperfections, but these are genuine fossils at a reasonable price! They are great for kids and for educational purposes! The tooth you receive will measure approximately 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches in length. Included with the fossil is a nice color information label.
