This is a set of 3 nice ammonite fossils. Two of the ammonites were found in Morocco. The first measures 4 1/4 inches in length and the second is 3 3/4 inches in length. The other ammonite is from Madagascar and dates back to approximately 120 million years old. It is 3 inches in length.
These are great items for educational purposes or for starting or adding to a fossil collection! Ammonites were prehistoric marine creatures related to the modern-day cuttlefish, squid, and octopus family. Ammonites are called cephalopods because their heads and tentacles protruded out of the same opening; they grew by building larger chambers onto their shells.
