This is a lot of 25 teeth from the extinct bony fish ENCHODUS.   THE TEETH PICTURED ARE NOT THE ONES YOU WILL RECEIVE.  YOU WILL RECEIVE TEETH OF SIMILAR OR BETTER QUALITY IF YOU PURCHASE THIS ITEM.  The teeth measure between 1/2 - 1 1/2 inch in length.   These teeth are very old - they are from the dinosaur time period!   So they may have repairs, may be partially complete, and may have some chips or nicks.    But they are neat fossils from a very interesting prehistoric animal!

These teeth were found in the phosphate mines of Kouribgha, Morocco, and date back to the Cretaceous period, 146-65 million years ago. Included with this fossils is an informational label telling about the teeth!

One of the fish's most notable attributes was the large "fangs" at the front of the upper and lower jaws and on the palatine bones, leading to its nickname among fossil hunters, "the saber-toothed herring". These fangs, along with a long, sleek body, and large eyes, suggest that Enchodus was a predatory species. They may have reached up to 5 feet in length.

We offer a variety of fossil teeth in our store of different qualities and sizes so be sure to check out our other items!
