Up for sale is a lot of 2 rudist bivalve fossils, possibly of the genus Caprinula. This is a very unique type of bivalve fossil which isn't common to come across. They were found in San Diego, California and date back to the Upper Cretaceous time period, approximately 83-66 million years ago.

Rudists are a group of extinct marine heterodont bivalves that were box, tube or ring shaped. They arose during the Late Jurassic and evolved to become very diverse during the Cretaceous time period. Due to the condition of tropical waters during that time, these organisms thrived and were major reef builders in the Tethys Ocean, until their complete extinction
