This is a nice tooth plate from the extinct lungfish Ceratodus. This fossil was found in Morocco, North Africa and dates back to the Lower Cretaceous period approximately 110 Million years old. The ceratodus was a very unique fish. Being a lungfish, it could breathe both in the water and on the land. It used its gills for respiration in the water, but also could also breathe air through primitive lungs and exist for several days out of the in the water!

Included with the fossil is a nice glass-topped display box. We have a variety of fossils available so be sure to check out our other listings! We have a variety of fossils available so be sure to check out our other listings!
