Up for sale is a fossilized Clypeaster echinoderm from Morocco. Its common names are “sea biscuit” and “cake urchin”. The scientific name “Clypeaster” comes from the Latin “clypeus” (meaning round shield) and “aster” (meaning star). This fossil dates back to the Miocene time period and measures 6 inches in length, 6 inches in width, and 4 1/2 inches in height. This is an impressive piece!
